Tara colors and highlights my hair regularly-every 5 weeks to be exact! She is very efficient with my time and hers too! She is professional and knowledgeable... and honest and tells me that my unique texture of hair can't look like the picture, which I really appreciate! She offers ideas and changes without being too forceful. She strives to please me, her client. Tara is conscientious about keeping fees reasonable (I love that too!) Tara explains why certain products are good for ones hair type without making you feel obligated to buy them from her... I also love the new technology of e-mail reminders so I remember to put it on my home calendar, and contacting her via e-mail is so much easier for me than to try to catch her at work and interrupting her other clients...when I am usually busy or gone for the day anyway! Could never figure out why not just shave me bald. Get it done and over with, so you do not have to see me again, again and again. “Why no one else will be cutting my hair as long as Tara Hooper is around:
- I love my hair from the day I get it cut and colored until the day I go back again 9 weeks later. It takes a special talent and skill to do a cut that doesn't make you hate your hair after a few weeks.
- With my schedule, getting email reminders is such a help. Too bad all my appointments in life don't remind me by email!
- The steamer (?) makes the color process go by so quick! I spend an hour and a half in the salon rather than the 2-3 I've spent in the past. I appreciate that looking good doesn't have to take so long.
- My cut is fun and my color is bright and flattering.
- The atmosphere at Beach Street Salon is relaxing, yet upbeat.
- Tara introduced me to my new favorite styling product--PureOlogy Power Dressing. The product I had been using was too heavy, but Power Dressing is thick yet doesn't weigh my hair done flat.
- After a few visits, Tara knows what I like so I can sit down and say "Do what you want" and know it'll look good.
- People ask me who does my hair. That's the ultimate compliment!”

I drive almost 20 miles for Tara's haircuts! My old stylist was just down the street and very convenient, but his cuts just weren't as good and didn't seem to grow out well ---so I'd either have to go back in 3 weeks later, or pull out the scissors and give myself a trim (not pretty!). Tara listens to what I want and pays attention to detail...I feel like she wants me as a client and will work to give me a haircut that will fall as beautifully when I walk out of the salon as when I walk back in 6-7 weeks later!

Tara has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 8 years. We have gone from short, layered cuts to a smooth chin-length bob and back, more than once. Tara is expert at color. I get many compliments on my auburn color. She always offers ideas on how to work with my hair, which really helps. The salon at Spa Samudra is lovely and relaxing. Thanks Tara.
